Looker Studio wins if your data is entirely in Google's ecosystem (GA4, Google Ads, BigQuery, Google Sheets) and you need free, quick reports for marketing or campaign performance.
Power BI wins for everything else — SQL databases, multi-source joins, complex DAX calculations, large-scale data models, scheduled refreshes, and enterprise sharing. It's a professional BI platform; Looker Studio is a reporting tool.

Looker Studio is genuinely excellent for what it does — and free is hard to beat for simple marketing reports. But as soon as your data lives outside Google's world, or you need real data modeling, Power BI is the clear winner.
